I was so drunk I immediately blacked out eating the burrito...this is sad, also, I made kind of an ass out of myself by busting into the shop so drunk, so not sure if I'm still welcomed there. But my friends said the burrito was really good...this doesn't really make me feel better.

little burro
So, my friend Caitlin and I have kind of a love affair with a mexican restaurant called brickhouse. Things were going well, but then we found an article about a new burrito place, Little Burro, that was opening. We stalked their facebook page until they opened, and planned a big post work group to go check out these burritos. This all sounds well and good, until you take into account that we went for happy hour drinks first. I don't drink during the week, so when friday happy hour comes around I am just so excited I freak out and go way overboard. We stayed at drinks until about 5 minutes until Little Burro was meant to close. I called them to pre-order some burritos and we ran down the street from the bar we were in to Burro.

trapped
Got up and ready to go to work this morning after staying out a little too late last night because I had a friend playing at an open mic night. I was all ready to leave a bit early so I could stop and get some breakfast on my way to school...but the joke is on me because when I went to leave my apartment the door handle would turn, but the door won't open. So, I'm trapped inside my apartment. I took the handle off on my side of the door and still no luck. Currently I'm waiting on a locksmith. And by waiting I mean I'm going to take a nap, this is a karma gift for all the good things I do!!

There is Only One Direction
I was lucky enough to go to the UK over my summer holiday...and even luckier to have a couple friends to meet up with while I was there.
First, I met up with my friend Josie and stayed at her parents home for a couple nights. It was amazing family home stay. Nice family meals, naps on the couch, bike rides through the countryside...so basically amazing!!!
Then, I went to Bath for the weekend and met up with my pal Pippa who was visiting some friends having a double birthday party, masquerade style. Coincidentally, I had just purchased a set of masks featuring the one direction band (can I used band in this context) members. So, while most of the other girls were getting their feathered and bejeweled masks on, I was pondering which 1D to be...I ended up choosing Nial, the blonde one, and Pippa decided to join me and wore the Louis, of course I brought the rest of the masks to the party, I mean after all they are a group and should stick together.
This was Pippa's first time to see a lot of these friends in 2 or 3 years, and she did it wearing a Harry Styles mask. Some still knew her right away, and some just thought she was some creep wearing a 1D mask, fair enough. I knew Pippa and her friends' whose house I was staying at, so I definitely
just looked like some creep wearing a 1D mask. Also, Pippa's Louis eerily matched her skin tones and hair, so it really did resemble Louis in a dress
As the cider kept flowing we found our way to the dance floor, and let me tell you, dancing while wearing a 1D mask has changed my life. I already dance like an absolute fool, but with the addition of the mask I seriously think we looked like weird cartoons or computer animations, it is in my top 5 dance floor moments.
End result of the Nial mask: got asked to go home with a guy at 10pm, I declined because that's just too fucking early to be hooking up unless you stay at the party, felt like a celebrity on the dance floor...almost as if I was a member of 1D, the mask started a lot of conversations and ended a lot of conversations with all my new stranger friends, ended up going home with a welsh body-builder in town for some sort of tournament...thank you Nial.
I did end up losing all of the masks, Pippa managed to get hers home...I will never know how. So, before I caught my flight back to HK I was on a mad mission to re-collect them all. I am still missing a Zayn, so if anyone wants to be a hero and send me one that would be fantastic.

And yes, they are now on the wall next to my bed, I am officially a 13 year old girl.

Things that make you go hmmmm
Well...recently a friend's boyfriend made her choose between our friendship and their relationship. She chose him. Okay. I am really sad, but I can overcome (you know, like the song). Then today I got an email from another friend (one who is/was friends with me and the other friend I just mentioned). She emailed me to tell me I am no longer welcomed to be in her wedding party. So...the reason for this post, how many friends can you lose before you start thinking you are the problem...
Questions, comments, please

back to life, back to reality
After my amazing UK holiday, I made it back to HK midweek and went back to work. Happy to be back and see my colleges, we went out for after work drinks on Friday...obviously chaos ensued. Most of those involved blacked out, but here are the memories retained.
Highlight of the night: I got back into Amazonia, yes, that's right, after almost 10 months since being banned, I found my way back into the seedy underbelly of Hong Kong's wan chai. The secret is to get there before the bouncers' shifts start, so there is no one at the door to stop me. noted, and i will use this method in the future.
I had cut my finger pretty badly in the morning before work, when I woke up Saturday morning, it was bandaged quite professionally, not sure who did that or how it happened, but I very much appreciate it.
When the night was winding down, i met a guy who seemed nice and we chatted for a bit, exchanged numbers and went home in different taxis (check me out, not sleeping with a stranger my first weekend back in HK). The next day, I received this message from him:
Hi Kelly whats up with you, how is your hand sorry if am disturbing you. But you are such a nice person am really falling for you honestly. please am loving you and want to be with you. I no it sounds crazy but I can't help my self. Take care
yikes

cancer update
I sure know how to build suspense, hey? Let me set the scene, swelteringly hot 4th of July, 2013. I met my friend Jenna outside the wan chai mtr (and, side-note, can I just say how ironic it is that I go to the lady doctor in wan chai, which is where a large number of my trysts begin). Thankfully, Jenna came with me, she is good at asking questions and it was just nice to have someone with me. We were in the waiting room for about an hour when I was finally called into the exam room. The Doc took out a sheet of paper with a bunch of still shots of my cervix at different stages of the previous pap smear, again, my stomach was not feeling great, especially since i'd had a starbucks earlier and went for the fattiest of drinks with had pudding in the bottom. Also, Jenna was sitting right beside me, so she got a good look at my cervix too, which was a little strange, but she was cool about it. He explained all the pictures and said something about a clock to relate where they had taken samples from, I was too in shock over my cervical photo shoot to really understand what he was saying, but main point is I only have a 20-30% chance of it becoming pre-cancerous, so regular screenings every six months, to keep an eye on it, always use a condom during sex...and that means during the whole of sex, not just at the end. Not too shabby.
Later that evening I went to dinner with some friends to celebrate the 4th of July. I luckily found an american flag shirt earlier that day and have a little flag from last years 4th. So, I had planned on this brew house, and told everyone to meet there, but when we got there it was closed down. I'm really not good at planning. So, we wandered for a bit and ended up at another brewpub. I scooted all the condiments together in the middle of the table to create a stand for my flag. Later on, the owner came over and said he had a proposition for us...this is always a little bit scary when a middle aged man comes up to you and says this, but we heard him out and he just saw that we were celebrating the 4th and offered us a free beer tasting! A wonderful end to the evening.
Almost...
Now, I have this printout of a series of pictures of my cervix, I kind of want to get it framed and hang it in my apartment. Jenna even helped me come up with a rhyme so I can remember to always use protection. If I frame the pictures and write "If you don't have a dome This can't be your home" on it, is that too far??

Kelly and the C Word
Yeah, I'm sure you are expecting a humorous story about me getting called a cunt...or me calling someone else a cunt, but there will be none of that.
I wrote previously that I had gone to the lady doctor to get my yearly check-up and also make sure I'm STD free. At the end of the visit, they told me they would get the test results for STDs in 4 weeks, and the pap smear results in 6 weeks, as long as no one called me I should be free and clear, but I could come in and pick up my test results anytime after those 6 weeks. Well, I made it to the end of the 4th week and was overjoyed to not receive a call back (for once not getting called was a great thing!!). Then, at some point I began getting these missed calls from the clinic. I assumed they just wanted me to come pick up my results, so I let it go for a couple months. When I had a day off school a week ago I went in to pick up the results...well surprise!!! I have HPV, but like the most atypical of cells, meaning I may have cervical cancer. And what is the cause of cervical cancer, having sex...seriously???!! Cervix, you are a cunt, and i really, really mean that.
So, I had the biopsy, and its basically a pap smear, but super duper magnified and on a screen for the doctor and you to look at. I didn't want to look, but I thought, when am I ever going to be able to see my lady bits on the big screen, so I gave it a chance, I didn't even make it through the beginning stages of the doctor sterilizing my cervix when I thought I was going to throw up so i just had to look at the ceiling and wonder why the air wasn't cranked up to keep me from sweating all over the paper mat I was laying on. The doctor and nurses were really nice, and laughed at all my lame jokes and my extreme reaction to looking at my own cervix. The nurse told me it was ok to not look, but later on she made me look at some of the solution they were putting on so I wouldn't be frightened if I saw this color later as vaginal discharge. I gathered my courage and looked at the screen and it was just a really dark liquid, then the doctor said something about it looking like soy sauce...hahahahaha, this is how I know I'm getting a cervical biopsy in Asia.
I get my results on July 4th, America's Independence Day...appropriate.
